Ok, I have had a problem the last few weeks when the door closes, the window hits that small lip on the top of the window frame and make a sound and prevents the door from shutting properly. Should I install the Fixit thing or what could be causing this? There have been times that my door would be open all night long with the interior lights on because it is not closing.

So your window is too far up and its hitting the black lip?

No. The fix-it thingies are to prevent the breaking of the clip in the regulator; if the clip broke, the window wouldn't go up or down at all.
Assuming the rest of your door is closing properly, your windows need adjusting (otherwise, your door may also need adjusting). It's described in the "body" section of the service manual.
