Why is this happening? the passenger window rolls up fairly quickly and has not problems but the driver side goes down slow and rolls up slowly too. What's going on? do I need a new motor or a new arm? Anybody have this problem? I looked in FAQ but found nothing about this. pls feel free to share ur thoughts. thanks!

Is this the infamous windows regulator problems in 91-92? Do you guys have 91-92 NSX?

If not, it could also be that your window clips are broken. I had the same thing happened to my wife's audi, and the culprit was the window clips.

Sorry.. I couldn't help more.

madfast,

It is probably one of two things:

1. Window rials need to be greased.

2. Window rails out of adjustment.

If the window lands in the proper position when up (that is no wind noise and squarely seated on the rubber molding) it is probably #1.

If your car is a 1991-92 you really should check it you have the original window regulators and do the update and grease them. When the window starts to go slow, due to lack of grease, you really put a lot of pressure on the cable, which leads you to the imfamous broken regulator.

If you catch this early it is a $15 fix with the "Dali Window Fix-It Thingies". If you do not take care of it, it is a few hundred bucks PER SIDE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks guys,
I am going to open it up first and take a look at it. try to grease it first if not then I'll buy the fix it thingy from dali.

it goes up slowly but then doesn't go all the way up. I have to open the door and roll it up so it goes all the way. I think it's probably out of adjustment. but I'lll seee. take care guys and thansk for the input.

hi, i have the same problem on my 91' nsx
I heard maybe the dali window fix-it thingie might work. But if so just let Acura grease and adjust it, or??

If you have a '91 with the old-style window regulator and without a window fix-it thingie, put the thingies in as soon as you can, or you might be facing an expensive repair. See the FAQ for more information.

Do this even if your windows aren't going up slowly.

madfast,

Sounds like you actually have both problems. Please do not misunderstand the adjustment/grease, is not done "instead" if the fix it thingie's.

When you open up your doors you will see a piece (white plastic) that connects the two cable ends to the mechanism that moves the window up and down. IF it IS white plastic, you need to replace it with the metal ones from Dali. Since yours are working this is a very easy, cheap fix. DO NOT WAIT, DO BOTH NOW. If you need any more persuasion, call the dealer for a price on a new window regulator

Go Here:
http://www.nsxprime.com/FAQ/DIY/thingy_install.htm

This will show you how to change them. About 20 minutes per side. The special tool shown in the procedure can either be made, or post a message to the forum to find out where the one is that was being mailed around in NSXCA. I used it about 6-8 months ago, not sure where it landed!!
