I'm looking to get my valve covers powder coated by Lith sometime and adding an AN bulkhead fitting like this one here to the rear valve cover http://www.summitracing.com/parts/rus-661193?seid=google&gclid=COv_9M6WubYCFQrqnAodTmEAXg
The reason being that the 91 oem valve covers have a nipple so the breather hose can just be stuck on, I'm just slowly cleaning up my engine bay and want to cut, drill, and retap it.
I've never drilled magnesium but I'm guessing there has to be something special so you don't screw it up.
Also I was told locking ring or pinch ring or something on the inside of the valve cover so that the nut doesn't spin loose under vibration.
Anyone ever done this before? I figure these are the steps..
1. Source bulkhead
2. Cut off OEM nipple with dremel
3. Pick metal drill bit to fit bulkhead fitting
4. Toss some oil for lubrication on the drill bit
5. Drill slowly
6. Sand down any burs or rough edges
7. Install washers on each side???
8. Install bulkhead for fitment
9. Ship covers to Lith and get them back in nice new red.
