nice.. very nice..
what do you prefer, the Elise or the NSX ..
I find the elise is a "race car" right out of the box and one that requires less mods, but a used nsx, one has to put quite a bit of $$$ to make it more "race car" like.. i.e.(coilovers, exhaust, steeringwheel, bodykit, wheels, etc)
being that you own both, i'm eager to hear your thoughts
you're observations are pretty close. the elise is a car you can literally purchase from the dealers, insert key, and exit the dealership almost on FULL trackable use. i always describe the car to people who ask, as a "street legal go-kart".... yes, there are mods that can HELP the elise achieve even more performance heights, but its a very narrow window we're talking about. you add more power (ie: supercharger, etc) then now you might be talking about some handling compromises. there are some forcefed induction kits out there that are very promising!
the nsx is also a very awesome car hands down. i owned the nsx before i had my elise. and honestly, for ANYONE who's never driven an exotic, or an elise... basically an average person who's been driving a family car, civic, camry, torus, etc will have NO idea whats in store for them when they get in the nsx. compared to average street cars, the NSX seems very track worthy too. tighter cornering abilities, very rigid, low to ground, stable, and quick. even AMONG exotics (without getting into supercar terrirtory) the only other exotics i think can edge out the NSX in handling might be the ferrari 360/430's... while gallardos/murci's are more powerful, i'd feel safer going around the track in the NSX...(but i'm probably biased) hahaha....
but with that said... once you jump inside the elise (if you can) and get over the uncomfortable seats, small cramped space, haven't fainted yet from claustrophobia, poor ac equipment, crappy audio from BLAUNPUNKT, etc.... you're in for a WHOLE new level of excitement. its honestly two different feelings. only once jetting around the track and canyon roads in an elise, and then getting back in an nsx can i honestly feel the difference. anyone who claims the nsx is not track worthy is STUPID... anyone who's driven an elise (or exige for that matter) and thinks the nsx is not quite there... its probably understandable....
i'm honestly very priveledged/and blessed to have both cars in my stable. beyond the trackability, performance... i always think its cool that i have 2 cars (again without going into extreme exotic territories) that you rarely see on the road. i live in LA too where cars are dime a dozen. and i MIGHT see one lotus a week or two. and same goes for the nsx... to know i have two cars in my garage most have to drive around LA for a week or so to see, and i have both is great~!!!
