Some time ago I bought the Downforce Type-R Front bumper undertray.
It looks very nice and well made and is not too heavy.
However, when I tried to install it, I run into some problems.
As I understood, the undertray is fixed to the front bumper by using the exact same mounting points as the underlip (air dam).
However, when I tried to mount the undertray, I found that the air dam has a row of small vertical ribs on the inside that prevents me from mounting the undertray.
Naturally, my next thought was that the undertray should be fixed between the lower front bumper and the airdam, but that would leave an ungainly gap between the air dam and the bumper. Also, the curved sides are shaped slightly different, so that is also not a solution.
Has anyone else had this problem as well?
Or should I just cut out the ribs from the inside of the air dam. They must be there to provide some extra strength and rigidity to the airdam, but I am pretty sure it will do its jobs just as fine if I cut the ribs out.
