should i put dot 4 in it? it states dot 3 but i only have dot 4 in my garage.
also - should i have my mechanic look aT it?
thank you

Yup DOT4 is designed to absorb moisture slower than DOT3 and has a higher boiling point. This is both suitable for road use and track work. Its better then what is in it now.

You have bigger problems than which fluid to use at the moment. Pull back your carpet under the clutch/brake pedals. look for wetness and post back. Good luck.

Good to know. My slave/master was replaced back in 03 but not the hose.
I'm looking to replace them again by the end of this year so I'll pick up a hose too. Maybe I'll get the SOS braided line. Thanks:smile:

i just replaced the master and slave. some how it was still leaking. it was leaking in the back so i figure i'll change the line too. However, getting the hard hose off the softer one is almost impossible. anyone know where i can another one? I stripped it completely. Vise grip was the only way I was able to move it slowly.

You can get a new one from the dealer or order it online and save $$$. Get yourself some metric tube wrenches, don't use open end wrenches to remove tube fittings. These tube wrenches look like a boxed end wrench that has had a slot cut out of the box to allow the wrench to go around the tube and make contact on the nut with all six points.
