Door fender gap

Is it normal to have a different gap between the door/fender on the driver vs passenger side? I didn't measure the difference, but the passenger side has a slightly wider gap than the driver side. Is it possible for this to be part of the manufacturing process, or is the only cause due to body work?

The nsx was built to very strict tolerance....so suspect an issue.
