Don't street race in LA, police will crush your car!!!

Link doesnt work. (for me) Only opens media player but nothing happens.

But well.. if you streetrace and accept the risk to kill yourself or innocent road user you're prolly happy to only loose your car.

Ouch!

then they shouldn't streetrace... it IS against the law isn't it?

oh yea, it is.

these jerkoffs are the reason I can barely afford my car insurance, I have Z-E-R-O compassion for them.

I would be scared of the interpretation of 'street racing' and how the police are allowed to use it to crush or seize your car. I mean, if you are driving with a bunch of NSX guys and get pulled over doing 100 mph but you are not racing each other.....does everyone get their car seized and crushed??

I live near an area where street racing is prevailant and one time I was just trying to get home and was harrassed and give a summons for no reason other then fitting a profile.

I dont understand why they dont just auction off these cars and use the money for charity/city use or something. It makes no sense crushing perfectly good cars. Lets not forget that not all the parts on the car can be recycled either.

Good question.

Actually, it was an IROC. Some of the later models didn't necessarily have the decal on the door, just the small emblem in front of the door. Yes  I had one. My first car, an 85 IROC that I put buku $$ into. Ahhhhhh, I actually thought I was cool  . Loved the car at the time, it had 360 hp (a lot for a high school kid). However, every time I hit the gas, something broke. I have not owned another domestic vehicle since. Oh yeah, my friends used to say, "I rock, you rock, we all rock in Joe's IROC!" BWAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!

Well if we are about to be pulled over for cruising at 100 as a group and we knew that they will crush our cars, I don't think we will be going 100 anymore, try 125...mabye 150  and then we'll see who gets crushed.

I am sure they would not be crushing cars that have an actual value. Propaganda is what I see here. Just like worlds wildest police chases does not show the 10 people who get away for each person that is caught.

Not to start any flames but we used to say IROC stood for Italian retard out cruzin....

Unless you spotted me in mine when I was 18, then it would be Irish retard out cruising.
...and yes I heard this all the time.

I think this will make street drag racing (IMO BORING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!) go to tracks where its more safe....i rather speed in an enviorment where I kno its safe-R and where i wont hit anyone on the road

And don't street race down here in Orange County either because we'll beat your ass.

Joking aside, I say good. Street racing is stupid and dangerous and if this stops even on incident, then I have no problem.

Although the suggestion to auction the vehicle off is a good one.

Sorry, totally off topic.

Da Hapa,
I just got a modified exhaust + no front license plate fix it ticket. The officer told me I need to go to police station to get clear.

The front plate is absolutely not a problem, I already have it on, but the exhaust I have is 50 state legal, the sound level is also well below 95db, I have the paper work for the exhaust and more than willing to have the sound level tested. I did not even bother arguing, as it does me no good getting officer upset.

Are there anything that I can do? Can I have you inspect my car and clear these 2 items? I would much rather not have to go down to Huntington Beach police station. I will avoid driving anywhere near Huntington Beach from now on.

*Open real player and go to:
-tools
-preferences
-content
-media type

click the button "manually configure media types for media player"

click the "select" button

uncheck everything except "real audio real video."

Now windows media player will be the default player for media types except real player files.

I agree. Sell the cars after the offending parts are auctioned off, and donate the money towards charity.

I think the point is to get the cars off the road. If they auction them off, chances are that that is exactly where the will end up again.

I disagree, it's not the car, it's the people who drive the car.

People who are looking for a sportscar for example, they will just get it from somewhere else anyways.

Destroying a specific car that was used in a street race doesn't help preventing the next accident at all.

If they sell it in the auction to a safer driver, it would be better than destroying it.

I realize it is the people who drive the car and not the cars fault
However, if someone buys a car prepped for racing, chances are that it will be used for that purpose.
Why don't you just go to the track where it is legal and not worry about it?
