i know that i will probably take some stick for this but,what are spats.i know what the valence is,i know what a diffuser is.are the spats on the corners?

Its the sound gooey stuff makes when it hits the floor.
They go on the very bottom of the rear quarters behind the rear wheels. They are used to fill in the gap between the ground and the bottom of the car when ground effects are added.
