Doing diy oil change for the first time, stupid question

I am going to perform diy oil change on NSX for the first time, DIY oil change actually cost me more than paying a shop changing the oil for me, but after getting my CV boot ripped from last oil change. I think I will gladly do it myself, I already picked up 6qts of Royal Purple 10w 30 synthetic oil and oem nsx oil filter. Most of the oil change ads I seen also include lube chassis with oil change.

I have searched the forum with key word "lube chassis", no results.

How often do we need to lube the chassis? With what kind of chassis lubricant? What parts/areas require chassis lubicant?

I think for most modern cars, "lubing the chassis" is nothing more than a sales pitch for increasing perceived value. Some cars need periodic greasing of joints, and they'll have zerks fittings for doing so. Someone confirm, but I doubt the NSX has any.

I think the last car that needed a lube was my dad's 1975 Chevy Nova. The only place you get a lube now is at Jiffy as they bend you over.

Don't forget to change the drain plug washer as part of the oil change. Free or 10 cents at most dealers when you buy the filter.

I'm sorry, but if I laugh out loud I have to post.

I don't even know where to start...so I'll just stop. It's just sales BS.

That is nice. I just wanted to be 100% sure, nothing more.
Acura/Honda or other dealer usually have it listed on the service ad as well.

No lube fittings on an NSX .....how did they damage your CV Boot?...JZ
Thanks. The previous oil change was done at an non-nsx speciality shop. Although I prefer having everything done at Autowave. Oil change is really something that would take a miracle to mess up. I did not want to bother Shane or Mark for such a small job, when they probably have NSXers lining up waiting to get bigger jobs done.

The service guy probably somehow cut or ripped the CV Boot during the oil change or removing the oil filter, just my wild guess. I immediately took the car to Autowave to get the CV boot replaced, they also noticed I had non-oem filter and replaced it with the correct blue oem filter.

Please take your car to Autowave even for an oil change. They are never too busy for you. Jiffy Lube is bound to screw something up!

how much do you guys usually spend on an oil change? i went to honda and they said $120!!! "because its a special car" they said." F-all that!! so i just decided to go an alternate route:

6 quarts of mobile1 synthetic, about $45 @ kragen
1 NSX oil filter about $15 @ acura
take my car to a mom and pop shop,(familiar w/ NSX) and pay $20 for labor.

so a about $80 for an oil change. i think i need to pocket that $20 and do the labor myself.

Looks like you get to pocket $40. Not to mention the $120 probably doesn't include synthetic. Load of crap. The filter is right freaking there. One of my cars has a cover that has to be removed and replaced (10 fasteners) and the filter is hard to get to. Still, it's a 20 minute job tops, even without a pit. For the oil, check Sams Club or Costco. You'll save another ~$16.

you could also add engine restore or chevron with techron fuel system cleaner. it’s inexpensive and good preventive maintenance

$45 ? !
I buy a 5 quart jug of Mobile One at Walmart for $21
I have bought the oil filters and crush washers from a discount mail order Honda dealership at $12.XX a piece.

Just put in Mobil one synthetic, brand new genuine Honda filter and crush washer for less than $35 myself last night.
