Does anyone else have this problem? The plastic tow hook cover on my front bumper keeps popping off while driving on bumpy city roads? Is there a fix? Thanks in advance.

If you look at your tow hook cover, you'll see the little tabs that hold with notches to the outside. The tabs will get bent in if you take it out "sideways" by unclipping one side and turning it towards the other. You should always unclip by squeezing it and pulling it straight forward.

This piece is very flexible, so bend the whole "V" outwards a little, and press each tab to the outside as well, but it may not stay that way unless you heat it a bit with a hair dryer or the like.

When you snap it back into place, don't be gentle. Make sure its in position and give it a good whack with the base of your palm. I've tried just squeezing and pushing it in, but that doesn't work for me. You'll know when its tight (no comments here please).

Mine was a little loose when I bought the car, but I fixed it using the above method. I've had mine on & off a few times and it acts like it should now.

A quick fix to the tow-hook cover coming off is to epoxy a small bit of fishing line to the inside of the cover and the inside of the lower valance. This way, when it does eventually come off it'll stay attached to your car!

The opposite

I tried to actually remove mine without success. I doubt it was ever removed before. Either I'm not pulling hard enough or I can't get a firm grip on it since there's too many layers of wax on it. :)

I went through two, before I tried the best fix EVER. Black car, so I used black electrical tape and wrapped the tape as far back as I could get. Have to change the tape out about once a year, as it fades, but it has held up great, and no one has noticed until I pointed it out to them.
I thought my problem was due to the front end being tweaked from a previous owners misfortune, but it appears to be a fairly common problem. $40 from my dealer, color matched to the car. Could do lots better at Niello with the NSXCA discount.
