I was just curious what you all thought of the last US model generation RX-7. I just sold mine to purchase a NSX (which I have located and am arangeing the purchase) and I have to admit. Stock vs. Stock, these two vechicles seem nearly identical. I notice the NSX tends to understrear in similar situations where the RX-7 would overstear, and I don't know if that has to do with the wheelbase or possibly the weight (although driver alone could efect the latter). I also noticed that both have that same "kick in the pants" around the 3500-5500RPM range, due to the VTEC and Turbo respectivly. Overall I am VERY impressed with the NSX, and it seems to be everything I hoped for. I think my *only* complaint is I feel a tad more cramped in the NSX. It lacks rear bins that the RX-7 had, and therefore I miss out on the reclining room.

All in all, I am VERY eagar to own the NSX and modify it, however, like I said, I'm just curious as to what you guys thought...

Matt- I am in the same boat as you...I sold my 93Rx for a 93 NSX...IMHO- the NSX is OVERALL a much better car, considering total package. They both have timeless designs where no one realizes my RX was about 10 years old, I'm sure I will get the same with the NSX...Both cars will become a major head turner with a nice set of rims, for me always a 3 piece =) I was tired of boost problems on the RX and hot days with twin turbos...although they are super fast when it works right especially with an extra or two pounds of boost..

I've owned at 93 Touring Package RX7, and it was a wonderful car, the only reason i got rid of it was the constant little problems that would pop up the inconsistant boost, overheating, burnout smog pump (my fault, supposed to disable it with aftermarket intake kit).

Just be sure to so the vacuum line thing (replace them all with high quality silicone lines, and there are ALOT of them) and also besure to clean up all grounding pooints ffrom motor to chassis, and add a couple more for good measures.

If the car was maintained a little better from the previous owner, and i didnt have to put so much working into keeping it running i would still have it now, with my NSX of course, not instead.

Just be sure that you have it checkout very closely before you buy one.

I traded in a 93-r1 [stock]for my 96-t,and the diference is night and day.I might have had a 'bad' example but I was plagued by poor boost, fragile paint, uncomfortable seats for any ride over 45 min.,and evil handling, with wicked oversteer, and little warning of such. The mazda looked good and can be modded to the moon but in all ways the nsx is more satisfing.

I used to have a 1994 Touring 5 speed. Car was good, liked the interior design. and much more headroom. But the steering wheel didn't adjust and the RX7 was built for 2 rear seats so that's why it may feel like more room. Again it's the reliablity of the RX7 made me not like it and the MPG. I average 18mpg where as my NSX got 26mpg average! The EGR valve error comes on a lot and my RX7 never broke down once, but it just doesn't feel safe for me. The RX7 so far is also a timeless design. The RX7 turbo lag is pretty bad from idle to 3k. Whereas the NSX just goes smoothly.

Wow- never knew so many ex Rx owners...looks like we all had the same types of issues with them.. most overheating and boost inconsistency...great looks and performance for the price though...I never did consider any other car than an NSX after my RX..
