Hi everyone, I'm in search of someone in southern california who knows how to fabricate and customize an existing exhaust system. I have the exhaust already, I just want to decrease the length of the canister. I've been searching around, but i've yet to find anyone who's able to do this..most muffler shops just install exhausts. Any help would greatly be appreciated.

Thanks,

William

Try contacting John (Anytime). Unfortunately, I don't remember the name of the shop but he knows a place out in Anaheim that might be able to help you out. They mostly do custom work for domestics but from what I saw in their service bays, I'm sure that they can do what you're looking for.

Decrease the length of the Canister!?

I seriously doubt a muffler shop is willing to do this without great cost. Muffler shop will usually weld in a new canister that is the correct size or Cut and reduce pipe length..

Please give us more details... Are you trying to fit in a Exhaust system that is made for another car? IE... RX8 or G34/350Z ?

You may want to look at this thread to see the internals of a muffler.. it isnt a simple job to shorten it. Maybe you should modify a shock exhaust like this thread.

Anthony's Muffler in Whittier can do custom work. It's the shop the Spugen guys work with (S2000s mostly).

Those guys can bite me... I went there and this lady quoted me $600 for a Flowmaster system.. and then she also added " Tips are extra." I didnt think they wanted the business.

I had heard that they had gotten expensive, but that seems like a lot... I haven't talked to them in a year or two, so I don't know them too well anymore- I've seen them make custom piping before and custom cutting/fitting, so I thought I'd suggest them...

Rode with Wealthbuildr this morning. His new 360 canister, with no cats, sounds nice when he opened it up. It is mean and growl like a F360. Well it is more like a scream than a growl. I really like it a lot.

I have heard an NSX with a challenge canister and I like William's better. And it defnitely sounds better than the Tubi I used to have on my car. May be removing the cats wakes it up.

The canister looks massively large sitting on the back of the NSX.

Nice job, William!
