Do door weatherseals seal?

Every time I wash my 01 NSX, water gets into the door sill area where the NSX serial number plate is and also the hinge area. Just a few drops... Is that normal? There seems to be an outter seal that should keep the water out. I use only a low pressure garden hose.

Hi,
Same thing happens when I wash mine, except it's more than just a few drops.
Don't know if that's normal or not....

This happened on both the NSX I had and on several friends' ones. I guess it is "normal"... and a little more than few drops

It's normal for water to enter this area. When driving in heavy rain I can hear it gurgling around. The seal appears to be inboard of this area and IMO it works just fine - I've never had water enter the interior area.

Thanks everyone. Yes.. it appears normal for the car. Thanks for the info. If only there was another NSX in my town, I wouldn't have to ask.
