DIY Radiator Duct?

yes

Too much non stock stuff in front so I had to make my own. Top edge is upright to meet up with the bottom of the Taitec vent.

nice! what kind of non-stock stuff prevented you from using a pre-made?

i wonder how much performance is lost from not being completely sealed?

What foil material is that?

Hi Danny

I am in the same boat...need to make a custom one. I have Ron Davis Radiator and tilton brake bias controller valves. What material did you use? Any welding involved or just cutting?

Thx

Jeff

Hi Jeff,

Very easy, just get some 3/32" aluminum plate. I'll get the measurements when the car comes back. Basically, two 90 degree bends for the sides. Cut up from the bottom about 1/3 way up along the bends on each side, then bend that lower 1/3 section about 30 degrees to clear lines. The top edge abuts to the bottom of the Taitec scoop/vent with a thin weather strip in between. All the air has to come through here because the entire front compartment is sealed below. FYI, the mesh can obstruct up to 30% flow, depending on the mesh pattern and thickness of the wire. The foil is a heat barrier made by Thermotec.

Regards,

Danny
