I know there are battery buddies, and trickle chargers out there but is it okay to just disconnect the negative on the battery when the car is not being used so the battery doesn't deplete? One person I talked to said its not good because of possible computer problems?I called Acura and talked to the nsx tech. He said the computer would be fine it knows what it knows. He said you can't just take off with the car after you connect the battery you have to let your car idle a little so the computer resets itself. Then the car will idle smooth and run smooth. So should I just disconnect the negative of my battery when I am not using my car??

I do that all the time with my Supra. I don't let it idle for more than a minute or two. No problems.
I think the negative is not easy to disconnect on the NSX, so I leave it alone.

Well, there are certain disadvantages. If you've set off any trouble codes (check engine light), they will be lost and you won't be able to diagnose the problem. And you'll have the minor inconvenience of resetting the clock and radio stations every time you get in the car.

You can buy a quick disconnect from your Napa dealer or even Griot's Garage. They take a second to diconnect (Unscrew a knob that breaks that connection) and you can also get a bypass fuse for $2 that allows enough current through to keep clock and radio settings. Works perfect for around $15.

You don't disconnect the battery at all?

No I leave it alone. I need the alarm functioning. The Delco battery in my NSX is a great battery. I can leave it sit for up to three weeks at a time and it will start. I usually drive the car once every week or two.
