hello friends, I will want to paint my white tank evaporator, after having read the text in FAQ, I does not understand how to make to remove the pipe of bottom without causing air bubbles in the circuit, (can't the translator translate the text)… it is necessary to seal the pipe or to fold it upwards? how to make to remove the tank without putting air in the system? thank you very much for your assistance:smile:
the pics are welcome

wiki...<<[MBA - 2000/1/13] If you're careful, you should not end up with any air in the cooling system or need to bleed it. By careful I mean, don't bend the hoses that you disconnect below center. They will not leak below the need to bleed range if you keep them upright.>> ???

David,
You're referring to the coolant overflow tank. When I took mine off to change it to an aluminum tank, I simply crimped the hoses to allow as little leakage as possible while the tank was out. I didn't have any problem with mine. You shouldn't have any problem with just a small amount of air.

Thank you, then did I to ask you with what crimp the pipe? with a nut?
PS) how know that my name is David?
thank you friend!

I replaced mine a few months ago. You do not have to crimp the lines if you are careful. Disconnect the vacuum hoses and then remove the top coolant hose first. Tilt the tank towards the firewall so that the bottom hose nipple is pointing as far up as you can get it. Wiggle off the bottom hose and make sure that you keep it pointing up. A small amount of coolant will spill when you disconnect the hose (I stuffed some rags under the tank prior to removal to catch any drips). I wedged/pinned the bottom hose pointing up against the throttle body so that I could work. Swapped tanks, reconnected everything and I was back on the road. The whole job took 30 minutes.

My wife is French, so I can have her re-type this if you want. :D
