Anybody knows how the dip stick pipe is attached? Does it go straight into the oil pan or does it go thru the engine?

Thnx.

Henry.

Henry, from the manual, it looks like the the dip stick is apart from the engine block, goes through a seperate pipe, and then goes to the oil pan.

took mine out today... It goes through the oil pump housing in to pan. Attaches at timing belt cover with a 10mm bolt

The reason I'm asking is because I'm missing the 10mm bolt which supposedly secure the dip stick pipe to the timing belt cover and the pipe is quite wiggley loose. I think at one point, it was touching and rubbing the pulley.

How was it attached to the oil pump housing? Was it securely attached to the oil pump housing or kinda loose that you can kinda wiggle it?

Thnx.

Thnx Shawn..... From the picture, it seems the dip stick pipe is secured by two 10mm bolt on both end.

With my pipe wiggling this much and missing the top bolt, I think it's safe to assume that the bottom bolt is missing also. Sigh..... I wish my mechanic can be more careful!!
