Deal was finalizing and then when the seller brought the title. Dealer noticed that on the title the miles were exempt.

When i pulled the carfax on the car each odometer was place when registering the car.

What should I do here? I don't want to have a big dilemma later on if I try selling this car.

Can i get the mileage exempt off the title? Should i buy this car?

thanks
dan

****EDIT****

after researching seems like the mileage exempt is pretty common.

should i pull the trigger?

yeah the miles exempt happens when it changes hands to a new owner and the car is over the a certain AGE. not miles. you could have a
mint 1991 NSX with 500 Miles and they would be exempt do to AGE.

I wanna say all cars after 10-15 years Old are automatic Exempt regardless of the miles. your good.

if its a great deal PULL THE TRIGGER Already lol

when I got my 1992 NSX when I went to have it titled here in FL since the car was from NC. the DMV told me this car will have an exempt on the title I said HELL no.. will kill the value of the car.( I thought ) went home and looked up exemptions then I was educated about exempt cars. LOL

so if you had a 1922 Ford from a museum with 20 miles on it it would be exempt LOL

or something about "this vehicle has exceeded the manufacturers suggested life of the vehicle."

I think, dont quote me though

now i'm having a BIGGER dilemma... CU directi connect will not take exempt on a title... so now i must go to my credit union

thanks for the info!

yeah the real probelm is finding someone that will finance a car over a certain age most places WILL not finance a car over 5 year old. some guys on here have had great luck with Credit Unions but I will let them chime in

the only way I got my 1992 was thru my GF's Bank in South Dakota she was family friends of the bank owner. very very small town bank.

Bank of America said Go-to HELL even with a 780 credit score

Watch OV-a your Money (wachovia ) said they will not do cars over 7 years old.

hope you get it though.
