Dilema - to paint or not to paint parts..

Someone nicked me in the rear bumper and while I'm having that fixed, I'm trying to determine exactly the right balance of cf/yellow to the car.

Here are the items into considerations:
-Rear CF Type R wing, the exterior side piece only. I'm 99.9% certain I'm doing this, it looks real nice, but if someone wants to talk me out of it...The minor question is, do I pain the interior portion of it..? hmm..
-The CF "fin"
-The Hatch garnish.
-The mirror plastic garnish (I've heard that the pain can bubble up... ) but I've also seen it on a car here and it looks nice!
-The door handle.
-The to be installed CF B-pillars.
-Hopefully someone comes up with a CF T-TOP overlay soon..

In the future, I'll hopefully add a Taitec JGTC diffuser which I'll probably pain the sides yellow... but it's another CF piece....and potentially a NSX-GT style intake vents, though I'll likely have those painted yellow :P (just to throw another piece in there..)

Anyone have any opinions? I'm taking the car in 8 hours from now :) but I probably have a few days to decide as they work on the bumper first...

Any suggestions? I gotta be sure b/c once you go yellow, you can't go back :)

I would just paint the rear bumper, the CF "Fin" and the CF B-pillars yellow and leave everything else alone.

me too:biggrin:

Carbon fiber will look great against the yellow. I would leave the middle of the wing cf. Leave the garnish black or cf.

my advice is to paint everything yellow except the wing

oem look is the most timeless and classy imo

I am leaning towards this.. but I do think painting the SIDE exterior and possible interior piece yellow makes it look nice. Other owners have this - anyone that has this have second thoughts?

I also have a spa yellow. I chose to paint match the CF b pillars. And its the only CF painted piece I have. It just didn't look right on a yellow car. I've seen it on a black nsx and it look good. I also have the cf rear deck lip and I left it CF because it blends in with the shadow of the spoiler. You have get the CF side ducts.

I do want them :) they're just $$$

I see no real reason to change them unless it's for looks since theres not enough weight savings to outweigh the PITA removal labor involved.

+1. How about just painting the top black to blend in the CF pillars:biggrin: If your yellow has the pearl in it, good luck with a match.
