Digikey replacement for little fan in dashboard.

My little fan in the dashboard is starting to growl. What fan on the digikey websight will work. If anyone has a fan, can you get me the measurments. Thanks, Dan

I actually looked into this a while back when my aspirator fan was making noises...

Unfortuantely, I could not find any 12V fans at digikey that were the right size. There are some 5V fans from Sunon that are about the right size, but you will need to wire up a 5V voltage regulator and heatsink first -- a LM7805 in TO-220 will suffice. I think you may also need to fudge a mounting bracket to mount the fan.


I ended up just cleaning the aspirator fan and oiled it. Its worked silently now for over 2 years.

A strong shopvac applied occasionally will usually get rid of / prevent this from happening. The little fan just builds up crud on the blades after a while.
