Hi I'm considering buying an NSX and was wondering if you guys could provide me some info on the major difference between early 90s model and late 90s model. Thanks in advance, I appreciate it.

1992

1991 was the first production model year for the NSX. In 1992 there was a new color introduced. It was Grand Prix White. These changes are ONLY for US models.

All manual NSX's from 1991 to 1996 have a 3.0L 270HP engine

1993

A passenger side airbag was added

Re-worked the center console

Warranty went from 3 years 36 to 4 years 45 miles

The AC system was switched from CFC's to R134A (Environmentally friendly)

There was a useless cupholder added

1994

A new color Brooklands Green Pearl was added

Late model green cars had body color roof's. Instead of black one's

No more Sebring Silver NSX's were produced

Interior color Tan was added

No more Ivory interior

New rims were added + increased Tire/Wheel Sizes to 215ZR45 16" Front and 245ZR40 17" Rear

Reduced gear noise by reducing the gear cut

Made the rear wall of the interior color coded to the leather

Rear alignment was changed to 2mm less toe-in to help improve tire wear

Deleted the stainless steel NSX symbol from center arm rest.
(That always burned my arm...ouch!!)

1995

Added the NSX-T: Removable top

The roof's on the NSX-T's were body colored. Coupes remained black topped

The color Midnight Pearl was added

No Grand Prix White was offered in 95

The NSX-T's were extensively reinforced throughout - resulting in about 120 pound increase over the coupe version

Limited slip differential was changed

Throttle by wire was added

Better brake cooling

Low speed power steering was added

Different exhaust

Sportshifter added to steering wheel for automatics

1996

Grand Prix White was offered once more

More reinforcement for the NSX-T adding an extra 10 pounds

1997

New colors Monte Carlo Blue, Spa Yellow, Kaiser Silver

Engine increased from a 3.0L to a 3.2L, on manual transmissions cars.

Horsepower grew from 270 to 290 and torque went from 210lbs-ft to 224 lbs-ft
On manual transition cars (auto's stayed the same at 252hp)

New 6 speed transmission, 6th gear is engaged by a solenoid. The gearshift activates a switch to change gears.

Double synchros on 3rd through 6th gears

Triple synchros on 2nd gear

Stronger harder aluminum alloy (body panels) that reduced weight and increased rigidity

Less noise and vibration from the engine at idle

New car immobilizer and anti-theft system which uses a micro-chipped key

No more metal key

Improved traction control system

Better ABS system

New front spoiler

Better power steering control

Larger spare tire

Solar absorbing glass. 40% less heat enters the car

larger diameter spare tire

Dual mass flywheel

Single disk clutch added to cut down on clutch chatter

Different cylinder linings, fiber reinforced (FRM)

Different head gaskets

Larger connecting rod bearings

Bigger front and rear brakes, brake rotor diameters and rotor thickness

Front caliper pistons went from 40mm and 34mm to 40mm and 36mm.

Coupes can be ordered with either body color tops or black tops

New wheels- same as the 94 to 96 wheels but without the smoke color.

1998

Throttle computer was re-worked and different software uploaded

1999

No changes to the NSX or NSX-T

Introduction of the ZNSX (Zanardi NSX)

Actually my response came from a different source, it had other changes shown that weren't in the faq. Using both will provide more information. :D
