Ok, its enough already, DAVE keeps saying he is faster around the track than I am. Since this is sooooo scientific (we rarely run together 'cuz Dave can't make it out to the track most days AND he runs in the Intermediate group when he does show) it is entirely open to speculation - THATS WHERE YOU COME IN:biggrin:

Help us speculate on our relative speed:wink:

LOL.

We dont have to speculate on this even.

I put a video here. And its not even my fastest at a high 1:36, maybe 1:37 since I was lapping 1:35 last time out! Time the lap after I get by the M3.

But I will let it stand.Wheres your video?

Ive only heard of it once, on Rennlist. Good thing I saved that post on my hardrive! Here it is:

Thanks in advance.

I have many problems, but one of my biggest is poorly representing all of Porsche drivers. My friend, lets call him Dave, is STILL way faster than I am. This should not be a surprise to most of you who know Dave and have witnessed his incredible prowess first hand, but the problem is that Im driving a pure race car Porsche and he is driving the same NSX that he drives to work in every day! I know! This is very embarrassing for me!

What do I need to do to change this? Ive done everything I can think of so far including buying a Cool Suit that even says Captain Cool on it. I thought that that would psyche Dave out, but all it seems to have done is freeze my ass to a chair at the track one day (long story). Because I love balls, Ive had mine redone, mono style! That was very expensive and the back end of my 951 is now nice and tight, just like my cabin boy! But he is still faster! Making it worse is that my cool suit doesnt keep me as cool as his A/C does!

What should I do? Do I need to paint my helmet? Get a race suit? Gloves? Do I need to play lots of GT4? 200 Octane? Lighter spark plugs? There has to be something, Im desperate, Ill try anything!

"STU" [/q]

Stu left his video in fantasy land I think.

wow Dave! I know you're a HUGE Harry Potter fan (I heard you tell a few people you were an analyst at Gringots) but I didn't know you were into WRITING FICTION!!!

I don't think its my cool suit that makes me faster - I probably IS the fact I'm not worried about running a video camera in my car for a lapping day - after all, what's to film? After you've seen a few "laps around the track" they all look the same - buy a hot lap lap timer, if you want to know how fast you went around, you know, the stuff they have in race cars:wink:

I think we need to settle this with LOTS of witnesses - we should get the whole club out to a lapping day - as passengers, we wouldn't want them to take their precious babies on the track, (BRG Day would be the perfect choice) and we'll each take one passenger/witness out for 5-10 laps. Then we come in and get the next two.

I assure you, everyone will agree with me, Its not about HP, or A/C, its about skill and that all about me!

I need a 5th option.

You guys need to just give it up and move in together and start living your alternative lifestyle.

I'm not gay, and I believe Dave when he says he's not either - the only one who's gay is Dave's boyfriend:wink:

Im not the one with the ad running for the last 12 weeks looking for a new Cabin Boy!

What happened to the last 8 youve been through this summer Stu?

I for one would like to see some evidence that Stu even goes to the track!

No videos!
No pictures!
No evidence at all, just all this talk of fast laps! Im pretty sure the only laps Stu knows about are those of his frequently rotated cabin boys! I wondered what was up at the last Yaght Club dinner where Stu's boat was anchored just outside of the marina. Do not be fooled into thinking he goes very far in that boat, it goes just outside of sight and THATS IT!

Who's seen him at the track? I will exclude myself from the question because Im conflicted (look how fair I am!).

Anyone? I think Stu bought that race car only because he likes the pink on it.

Please note video (posted on YouTube by me!) of my Red & White Porsche (you can see the colour of the hood on the video) and, poignantly, I pass an NSX on the track (along with ALL of the other cars) in the Advanced group on the Friday (advanced only run day) of the 2nd BMW Club event this year.

Please note the NSX is driven by our member Paul Carroll who owned a Formula Atlantic team or two and had this guy from Quebec as a driver, his name was something Villeneuve if I recall...

Read more here: (scroll down to winning years) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Formula_Atlantic

Now, I do believe that several NSXer have seen me at Hanson days...even if they don't come to the BIG track!

You say redundant,
I say redundant,
You say redundant,
I say redundant.

Redundant, redundant, redundant, redundant,
Let's call the whole thing off...

But who is the most stylish while driving? That is all that REALLY matters. :D

Im not going back to the track until spring time, although in about 10 seconds Stu is going to start screaming that Im chicken.

He just wants to take advantage of the street rubber on my car vs the Hoosiers on his. He is sneaky that way.

Let's measure driver ability, not cars.

You two should rent a car with a limit of $35.00 per day to spend and see who can come up with the best lap time.

That would be fun to watch!

I might even come out to watch that happen! Talk about a club event!

Baaaaaaaak, Baaak, Baaaaaaak! Anyone want a drumstick?

No need to take advantage, I'll run on my two year old Toyos that my car sits on all winter in storage!

Do you have a scale that will go down low enough to reach Dave's?

Dave will use his corporate discount to get a mustang or something, I'll show up in a Neon:rolleyes:

That would be fun to watch!

Yeah, rarely do you see a Neon Lapping a Mustang twice in one session!

I might even come out to watch that happen! Talk about a club event!

I say we start with relative rides and have people opine about how much skill and g-force they experience - Dave is still looking for the G-spot, someone told him thats where they keep all the G's and he wanted to see what it was like to pull a lot of g's - you should have been there, Dave wandering around the paddock, asking where the g-spot was - I laughed so hard I almost froze my ass to my chair!

Ill buy you 10 drinks at next XPO Joe.

But Im not buying you drinks in a gay way, like Stu does.

Dave ALWAYS expects something when he "gives the gift of alcohol" as he likes to call it - thats why we never let him supply the beer at our Club events!

I just act like a regular Canadian guy and buy a few rounds - I've never had enough to want to take Dave up on the "special massage" he offers everyone when HEs had a few!

Why just the other day at our last meet Dave came in and asked for 10 shots of vodka, after he downed them all, I asked what he was celebrating, he said it was his first blow job - I offered to buy him another shot to commemorate it but he said if the first 10 didn't get the taste out of his mouth he doubted the 11th would help much!
