By now most of you probably know that we were not awarded NSXPO for either 2007 or 2008. The planning committee is very dissapointed, and somewhat confused with how things have unfolded, but it is what it is.
You also know that we are extremely keen to put together our own chapter of NSXCA. We will put our thoughts together in the near future as to its structure (sub chapter of North East, our own chapter for Ontario or Canada, etc...) and we will get back to those who may be interested. We will move forward on this soonish and our first event looks like it will be a kickoff drive (details yet to be decided). It will be great to see everyone again.
BUT, Tremblant is just too amazing to ignore. The track is awesome, but its surroundings are out of this world. We must not forget this gem and we must not let our opportunity to enjoy it pass with our unsuccessful NSXPO proposal. Mosport, which is very close to many of us, is a very interesting track as well, but the experience of holding an event at Mosport cannot and would not, in any way, compare to holding one at Tremblant.
Some of us are thinking about putting together time at Tremblant anyways. We are not sure which format would work best (our own two days? piggy back on BMW?) but some of the thoughts that we have batted around suggest two days on the track and maybe a day or two for social stuff; it is all very preliminary.
Because this will be a much smaller scale than NSXPO would have been, we can, if we like, probably do this this year.
It would be informative and may help to move forward if we were to get an idea about how many people would be interested in this.
If we have 10 cars, we need to piggy back on someone elses day. We would still all stay in the same place and have fun stuff to do, but we couldnt get the track for a couple days (affordably) with 10 ish cars. If we have 25 cars, then we may just be able to do that!

Who is in for an event at Tremblant?
It is not likely to be inexpensive as most hotels are in the $250/day range and the track is expensive too. I would figure that we would be looking at $800 to $1000 for two track days plus $1000 for accomodation for 4 nights and of course food and gas and other incidentals, including potentially parking at the hotel. Those track prices assume 25 cars on our own day and they are certainly not firm. It could be slightly more.
Not cheap, but it would be awesome. I would consider it a great opportunity to drive on a track that you may never get to enjoy and a fun vacation with a group of others. If this fits your bill, post here to give us an idea if we can or cannot have our own days on the track.
If that is just too much money, tell us. If you would prefer a single day, or two days, at Mosport where we drive our asses off during the day and go home and tell the wives how awesome it was at the end of each, tell us that too. My experience with Mosport is that most days run $400ish, so we are looking at significantly less money; a different experience, but let us know if you'd rather do that instead of an organized Tremblant event.
Personally, Im going to make it a mission to get up to Tremblant this year. Id love it if many of you were as excited about it as the planning committee is.
