I am looking for someone to show me how a true Canadian Car has the factory Day Time Running Lights mounted under the front bumper.

I have a US '91 car and am looking for some help to get it compliant for Canada. I would like to mount the DTRL the same as the Acura factory did it, but I cannot find anything substantial to mount the lights to. I want to do this right.
Can some one describe, or show with an attached picture how the DTRLs are mounted. There is a 1/2 inch hole in the bumper skin in approx. the correct place. I am sure that a mounting bracket may be required as well.

I would appreciate any help on how these lamps are mounted. As well, the dimentions of the lamps so I can find as similar as possible lamps to install.

Thanks for the Help.

Love that NSX!

Here some pics for you!
on the inside you have a tongue with a rubber on it, hum, sounds like my nite last nite.
On the outside, you have a 10 mm bolt or something like that.
Enjoy!

Do you realize that in order to comply with RIV, you don't actually have to have the OEM Acura DRLs don't you? Or are you trying to be as correct as possible? To pass inspection you just have to have some kind of white driving lights mounted somewhere in the bumper opening that come on when the engine is running.

Anyone have these DTRL units+fittings (and pref brackets too) for sale?
Might be interested.

Two thoughts:
1) Was the tongue on YOUR inside?
2) Thank god you posted the right picts - I would have been scared to see the others - I understand that the guys out West are getting crazy with all the oil $$$

I'm flying to Amsterdam Thursday night - if you can get them to me in time...

I realize, I do not need to to have the OEM lights, but I would prefer to install DRL as the factory intended.

If anyone has removed their DRL from a Canadian car and wish to sell, let me know.

Yes, I will have to stop work and go outside and take mine off and get you another picture.
By the way, I would rather have the European Fog light in place instead of these lights that use a 1156 bulb. Not much light out of them.
I was looking to replace mine with Euros or something like that.

P.s. Who are you? You are in Edmonton. You missed our get together yesterday.

Hope this helps.

I just recieved my '91 NSX on Sept. 19th. A US car out of Chicago. 31K miles. The Orginal owner babied this one. It still smells new inside. Not a rock chip on it.
Keep me in the loop for the get-togethers.

Hey Trev, thanks for all your help. Pictures and all. I understand how these lamps are mounted now.
I will let you know if how this turns out.
Presently my clear (white) front marker lamps are wired as DRLs. If this does not pass the OOP inspection, I will need to mount some lamps as the Canadian DRLs.

thanks again.

You look goofy in my opinion, Ryan!!!
lol
Hey are we getting together sat or what?
Trev
Bike Toy Run on Sunday, I might do that.
WarrenW, shoot me your cell.
