Dash bezels wrinkled

I have three NSXs a 91 and two 92s. They all have wrinkling around the the window switch and radio bezels and they look faded. The three pieces are $1500 from Acura. I just sold a 91 and it's bezels were perfect and they looked like brushed the stainless steel that is around the gauges. My question is: is there a source for refurbishing the bezels or lower cost replacements.

Thanks

You can have it painted by a good body shop. They can match the color very close.

The aftermarket dash kits look pretty bad in the NSX. They are bubbly and do not cover well. I had a CF one in my black car when I bought it and gave it away in a trade.

Hope this helps. I will post an example of a painted one when I get mine done to match the NAV pod to the console.

The wrinkling leads to cracking. This is one of the most disturbing flaws of the car.

Here is an example of a painted dash assembly. Chris did a great job on this car. He opted to use a lighter silver than stock, but it adds to the unique nature of his car.

I've been considering replacing mine (which has a couple of wrinkles also) with a similar light-silver/aluminum look to the one above. Not only does it create a nice contrasty look, but a lighter color doesn't show off every speck of dust as much as the original dark gray.

Gotta decide first if I'm willing to spend the bucks for a nav system. Hmm. :)

I've been wantint to get this done myself. I don't have wrinkles, rather minor scratches. I would love to see the pic you posted. I don't think it was placed right, or maybe its my computer.

Great...it is my computer...now I can't get the pictures in the posts. I hate Microsoft...Do they work with Bose by chance:rolleyes:

When I saw a few 02's at Greenwich Acura a while back it appeared to me that the bezels were a bit lighter than my 96'.
More of a platinum like in the picture above than the dark argent in the older vehicles like mine. Refinishing with a low gloss clear is very do-able and much less expensive than new.
To me the bigger pain is the R&I of the items.

Hi, Pbassjo,

Would the paint be scratch resistent? Also, I am ignorant to ask you this question, but what is "R&I"?

Thank you so much for your time.

my center console is silver(sebring silver to be exact)but my ash try cover is still black unlike the one in the photo.it is not a replacment part,i took out the old console, took it to a paint shop and they sprayed it for me.i am very happy with the job,it breaks up the colour of the dashboard nicely.

R&I: Remove and install.
Scratch resistant? All automotive paint is to some degree.
Powdercoating is way superior as far as scratch resistance but it's not for plastic parts.
I think that you want to know is if it's as wear/scratch resistant as the original coating. I'm going to guess probably not. I don't think it will wrinkle though.
