She is talented for sure, but ,as I am wearing my tin foil hat on, being NASCAR, I wonder if this pole result is rigged.

Re: Kinda goes along with the political gong show

Anyone can be anywhere in the field at any given time. Crazy.

But she's there now and it's not attribuatble to pit stops/fuel strategy, so good for her.

I noticed a missed opportunity last weekend when a car slid 100 yards upside down on its roof.

As the car slid down the race course, all the TV cameras were on it, replayed it 30 times

and

Not one advertising decal was on the bottom of the car!

After all we've seen, Nascar should impose a "no bump" rule and penalize those that do. Too many races have been ruined by it. But then again, it's a spectator sport and I'd venture to say that most spectators are there for the crashes. Sad - but true.

Bs. Rubbing is racing. A no bump role would be like making a no checking rule in hockey. Part of the sport, sometimes you're the bumper and sometimes you're the bumpee.

Agreed... I just like watching the highlights of nascar. Other then when they wreck or occasionally pull a slick move for a win, is it interesting for me. Danica Patrick is tasty.

If you know what you're doing, and these guys do, it's easy to tap a car from the rear and send it sliding and then back off. Might as well be a demolition derby contest instead of a race. Hockey - really? Even in horse racing if you mess with one of the other horses you lose.

+1 Its pretty easy to send someone into the wall.

Well it was a dissappointing outcome for sure, but I suppose she is gaining valuable experience.

At least she didn't hit a track dryer

Her 14 year old boy but? It is the deep south.

Does she have a boy butt?

I can't stand women who's shoulders are broader than their hips. It's just looks really strange, especially when ur from behind and don't have the face to re assure u that she is not a trans *insert the rest*, more than meets the eyes.......

Looks good to me... :)

Re: Dave Despain said it best

On other forums, there was some insane banter about Danica mania and whether or not she has talent and deserves what she's got. Of course she has racing talent as well as marketability, but just how good a driver can she be in NASCAR?

What I got from Dave Sunday nite was that he has no quarrel for how she's maximized the game and gotten to where she is. But from here forward it's about getting better as a driver and distinguishing herself as someone who is competitive all the time and could challenge for the win on any given Sunday. She's done everything she can with the marketing, it's all about the driving from this point. Time will tell and that's the only fair thing that can be said about her.

I don't know... it seems to me that NASCAR "racing" is really just a weekly lottery.

I read the words Pole and Danica and had my hopes up.

:frown:

Lets be honest.
If she were a he; "its" career would have been over ages ago.
Like before the first Formula Atlantic season.

Well I am not so sure of that. It all comes down to how marketable you are. Look at some of the olympic athletes that have made fortunes on ad endorsements. If you can find a niche and exploit it then you never know.

Sure, the fact that she is an attractive woman certainly helps. I have been a fan of hers not just because of her looks. I think she has really worked hard over the years to get to where she is today. Correct me if I am wrong, but it's not like her daddy owned a racing team and she just started driving.

^ what he said.
