Interesting CYA stories in city government.
First a Tempe public works supervisor gets fired for failing to react when a retiring worker brings in a bikini clad woman to work for 20 minutes to serve donuts to his co-workers. The supervisor had no part in the planning of this event, and I heard on the radio he had asked the retiring worker to have the woman put on some additional clothes.

Then Phoenix removes the head of the water services department for being too careful in providing water advisory to the public. The mayor didn't like not being able to micro-manage the water department.

Glad I'm not in the public sector.
