After driving the car for about 3 years now, and doing a few mods, it's time to start the 'real' build.
It focusses on two things, weight reduction and improved handling, mainly for street/spirited driving and an occasional trackday.

Backstory
I got my NSX about 4 year ago, and it being neglected by the previous owner, it needed quite some maintenance and as a plus it had most of the common issues. ABS and TC didn't work, all amps needed repair, ... the usuals.

First the local dealer took care of timing belt/water pump, then about half a year later the car ended up at Adnan's where it got the RFY treatment (headers/cat silencers/exhaust).
Also new problems were found, the shifting didn't go as smooth as it should, and it seemed to be the snapring issue, and upon opening the gearbox there seemed to be a lot of wear.
All this wear was probably caused by the previous owner who never registered the car and drove it monthly around his unit, I guess in first gear. As the gearbox was off, this was the ideal moment to get the closeratio gears installed, together with a new clutch and flywheel.

Not being the biggest fan of the fat fives, I got a 17/18 Enkei setup with Falken tires.
Now the car was ready to be enjoyed before spending more time and money.

Current and near future mods
Safety & Chassis

Garage Kite front and rear FRP beams
NSX-R front chassis braces

Suspension
Intrax 1k2 street suspension
Type R Front sway bar
Type S Rear sway bar

Drivetrain & Engine
Closeratio gears
RFY Oil pan
Intake scoop

Exhaust
RFY manifold
RFY cat silencers
RFY GT4 exhaust (silent version)

Wheels, Tires & Brakes
Enkei RPF1 17x7.5 17x9
Michelin Pilot Sport in 215/40 and 255/40
S2K ABS upgrade
Tarox 6-pot front Big Brake Kit with Tarox street pads
EBC USR rear discs with yellow stuff pads
Goodridge steel brake lines

Interior
Recaro Pole Position ABE, custom upholstery in Lambo red leather and red alcantara
Momo Tuner steering wheel

In the next month or two I'm planning on getting the suspension off, give it a good clean and remove all undercoating.
Also the s2k ABS and BBK will be installed, and the bumper beams as well.
Final thing will be to get some more weight out of the interior and install the Recaro's.

As the goal is weight reduction, the NSX should end up around 2750lbs/1250kg, this with a full interior and A/C.
More on that in a future post.

I haven't really touched the engine because as mentioned in my other topic I have a small exterior coolant leak. The idea is to take the engine out next year and get it fixed. Not sure to just put new head gaskets, or go the build engine route...
The latter is not cheap of course, yet very tempting. On the other hand I don't want to overdo it, I quite like the NSX as it is now.

And just a few teasers of parts that will be installed.

Chassis brace install, which as you all know is to take the front bumper off to have easy access.
It was most probably the first time ever the bumper was taken off, because the plastic screws wouldn't budge ...
On a spirited drive shortly after I especially noticed improved grip in the front.

Some weeks ago I started to remove the undercoating in the wheel arches.
This has always been an eyesore to me, especially with the overspray on the suspension.
It's quite a pain to get off, the tar removal products are ineffective, as the coating is too thick or old.
After some trying I found the best method is with a heatgun and a plastic scrape tool.
When the suspension is off I can clean the parts which are hard to get to, and to give it a nice finish I think of doing a quick rattle can respray.

The seats look awesome... I like the use of leather and Alcantara. Do you happen to know how much they weigh? Also, who did the upholstery work?

Dry ice blasting seems to be the best way to get the gunk off the underside with no paint damage or respraying needed if done properly.
I know, but at a hefty price, and I'm not sure if dry blasting will reach the hard to get spots ...

Haven't weighed them, but a stock recaro PP in GRP is around 7kg/15.5lbs.
I estimate that replacing both seats with recaro's is about 12kg/26.5lbs in weight savings.
Upholstery was done by a local shop > http://www.rrautobekleding.be/

Never heard of Intrax suspension do you have anymore information about this setup?
They are located in the South of the Netherlands and do custom suspension.
I went for the 1k2 with ARC (anti-roll control), with an emphasis on comfort, but every suspension is fully customizable.
Had a quick visit before I ordered and the owner showed me how a heavy G80M3 behaves in corners and on bad roads, and I was genuinely impressed!

A picture of one of my shocks, I explicitly wanted them in black for the inspection.
And again the Intrax suspension is a mayor weight savings, should be another 12kg/26.5lbs.
