This past weekend, my wife and I attended the American Lemans series race at LimeRock, CT.

My wife, Vivian was selected to go out and hold an international flag for the drivers before the race. I was able to go out on track as well.

I am behind the Mexican flag (I have a blue shirt on)

I have never driven this course and am interested in feedback (on this track) as well as curious in knowing if anyone is attending a D/E school here in the near future. It looks like it would be a bast to drive...........

cheers,

The Glen is a lot closer to you, and you can drive it as part of NSXPO 2004 this October.

Besides, it's more fun to do an event with 100 other NSXs...

Lime Rock is a challenging and fun track but it is difficult to get seat time because it is used predominantly for Skip Barber schools. If you have the money, you should try the 3 day racing school there.

Here is a video of 2 hot laps in an NSX: http://www.imagestation.com/album/?...invite&cmp=EMC-IS_other&creative=album-invite

But I agree with Ken about NSXPO. The Glen is not only closer for you but you would enjoy it much more than LRP. For starters, there are more elevation changes and the Glen is 3.5 miles compared with 1.6 for LRP. You can try it out at Kids Day with us in a couple of weeks if you can get away.

I have been to the glen (12 track days with the Genesee valley bmw chapter) and 2 days at Poconos but have never been to Limerock on a d/e school... It appears quit difficult, being such a small, tight course.

See ya at the expo

cheers

RSO 34,
I forgot, thanks for that limerock video....

Interesting you should talk about the Skip Barber School. Unfortunately, I do not have that kind of cash laying around but my father in law did the school 2 years ago at lime rock (3 day open cockpit cars) and I am pushing him into trying a D/E school here at the Glen with the Local BMW D/E event.

What do you think about sharing a car during the same school? ( I run in the B group and he would be in the D group)

Is that too much stress on a 92 NSX (brakes, rotors, ect) for 2 days?

thanks again guys,
john b

It's fine. Lots of people do that at NSXPO.

No, not at all. Just make sure your brake pads are new or close to new in thickness at the start of the weekend, and you'll be fine.

Hi, John,

Several chapters at BMWCCA holds events at Lime Rock: Boston, New Jersey, Patroon, Conneticut Valley and etc. Audi Quattro Club and PCA also holds events at Lime Rock. There is one event in August with the Conneticut Valley Chapter (PCA) at Lime Rock.

Check here for the complete track schedule of this year (it excludes Quattro Club and SCDA):
http://vista.pca.org/jsr/jsrpca/dales.htm

Also, don't forget the SCDA event (although the event at Lime Rock is over for this year).

Lime Rock was my first track, and for that reason, I have a lot of sentimental value. I have only been to three tracks. So I don't know much about other tracks, but I think that the surrounding and track itself is beautiful.

Actually, the SCDA has one more event at Lime Rock on 11/5.

You can get the info here: www.scda1.com

My bad.. hopefully, it won't start snowing that early this year.
