Well heres my situation, after having the car in the air to install the rear diffuser, i notice my CV boot torn, just slightly. mabee half an inch. Its not bad yet but i know its just going to open up. Has anyone done it themselves? As in repairing it? or has anyone taken their nsx to get the cv boot serviced? and what price range am i looking at. Thanks for anyones help on this.

This must be bad CV joint month!
haha damn i feel your pain, i think my rear outer cv joint is going bad,
if you do a search for 'cv joint' or 'cv joint clunk' there are couple threads on this, it looks like the inner and outer joints are $300-400 a piece (you can get them discounted if you get NSXCA membership (search for 'discount parts')

now my question to all you knowledgeable tech dudes is, you dont need to replace that actual drive shaft itself if the inner or outer CV joint goes bad correct???, i mean if its just the bearings in the CV joint that get hosed, you can just order the offending 'joint' and boot kit correct???

thanks ahead of time

The quick temp fix, purchase a tube of wheather strip sealer. Make sure the area of the tear is clean and free of al grease or oil. Apply the seal over the tear and spresd evenly out app. 1/2 " in all directions and alow to dry before driving the car. Use caution not get the sealant on yourself or anything else other than the repair area or may find out why this product has the nickname of 'Black Death' it sticks to everything it touches and very hard to wipe away.
I used this repair myself and drove the car over 800 miles before finding the time to do the perminent repair. The parts are not very expensive, under $50 if I remenber correctly. I also needed to purchase a band criping tool to close and crip the metal band at the boot collar, purchase it from Snap-on for app $25.
If your boot is torn it is likely you are loosing the grease packed around the CV joint, this could result in premature failure of the joint.
