Has any one tryed to do this type of an exhaust on the nsx? It might look pretty cool if it can fit under the rear valence.

No one!Hmmmm

Probably becaues of the price, you would need two for the NSX which brings you up to $500+ plus additional parts and labor, assuming its over $600. Doesn't make it a cheap project, especially since you might not like it after the fact.

I just did this using MagnaFlow Race mufflers and I love it. 325.00 total.

Man i like the look. What tips did you use?
I'll find out today and repost for ya. I remember when we was picking out the tips I had told him I wanted 4 or 5 inch tips so he picked up a couple that was 4 inch but looked smaller in build than these and I reached and grabbed these and headed to the car. Got to the car and held these up first and it was a done deal, told him put the other ones up! Called a friend over, told him I did an upgrade but didn't tell him what, he figured it out while he was pulling up. I'll take better pics. for you also.

I forgot to ask exactly what tips these are but I did find out that they are not Magnaflow mufflers like I thought. I misunderstood him, they are Masterflow which are an exact copy of Flowmasters 1- chamber Race series. I guess these companys wait around untill the patents run out then make copys and rename them, in this case they just reversed the words in the name. If you are intrested in any ofn this you can call Mike at 318-445-2244.

Hey That is great.. I always had that idea in my head for a long time but all the muffler shop I visited didnt think that regular oval muffler can be mounted straight on a NSX.. all of them wanted to do a horizontal exhaust.

So it is a 90 degree bend right out of the inlet?

Very nice. I bet it sounds awesome.

Looks like all of the bends are compression bends. There will be reduced sections in the pipe but it may not matter.

Yes, you're right, they don't have a mandrel pipe bender so they are compressed. I wasn't too much worried about any gain in hp, but for anyone wanting to do this let me tell you what Chris @ SOS just told me. He claims that using these flowmaster actually decreased the hp, so beware when doing this. I was more intrested in the sound than anything else. I took off a Comptech Exhaust to put this custom one on and didn't notice any difference in power.

I wonder if the hp loss is due to less or more back pressure? If you could document it I'm sure the folks at Flowmaster would be interested. However, having just taken the exhaust off my car I don't think I would want to put it back on for a back to back.
