My 1996 NSX Cruise Control is not working, anyone have similar experience? How much is this going to cost me? Can I fix it myself? Thanks!

Does it engage at all? Does the master cruise control light come on? I had this problem a few years ago. It turned out the clutch switch was faulty. So check your brake and clutch switch on the pedals.

Good luck!

The light does not come on when I turn on the Cruise Control master switch, and depress the set button on the steering wheel. How do you check for the cluth/brake switch? Please let me know, thanks in advance!!! :D

ss5153,

I'm no expert on this subject but I'll try to help as much as possible.

The clutch and brake pedal switches can be easily removed and checked, please refer to service manual for the procedure.

Do you even have the cruise control unit in the car? Again, check the manual.

If the clutch or brake switches were faulty, you would still get the light coming on for the main cruise switch. Check the fuse for the cruise control first.

Had same problem

My Cruise Control didn't work when I bought my (used) NSX, and after checking all the pedals / fuses..... it turned out that the cruise control module under the hood was just UNPLUGGED ! I happened to be under there doing something else when I spotted it. Wouldn't hurt to check this simple item.
good luck

John

Thanks All!

The green light on the master control lids up when I activate it, but when I'm on the freeway cruising at 65 mph, and depress the set button, nothing happens. I tried holding onto the set button for over 10 secs, still nothing happens. I will try the methods that you guys provided me and I will let you know, if I still can't figure it out, I will have to bring it in to the dealer. Thanks All!
