Creaking noise from dashboard

I'm getting an irritating creaking noise from the top right corner of the dashboard where it meets the A-pillar. It happens when I'm going over a driveway or bumps. The creak seems to disappear when I'm driving over 40mph. I looked at the FAQ about dash noise and tried the lubricant between the top of the dash and the defroster panel but the creak is still there. Anyone have this problem and any suggestions to remedy this noise without having to tear apart the dash? Thanks for any help.

as much as i hate to admit, i have the same issue.. if you have already tried the spray lube trick, i would suggest using the volume knob on the radio to drown the creak in the dash.... that's what i did. it worked great!!

If you can reproduce the noise by pushing on the area immediately next to the pillar, you can try dribbling down some silicone lube into the crack between the pillar and the dash. You may need to widen the gap with your fingers in order to get an adequate amount of spray lube in there. After applying the lube, shake/shove the area in question a few times to spread the liquid. Repeat whole process a few more times. Wipe off the excess that will be dribbling down under the dash between the vent area and the door. This normally keeps it quiet for a few months in my application.

A permanent solution would require removing the dash and applying a piece of felt in the gap -- presumably over the staples and the edge of the dash fabric.

The lube trick may work ,try it first.I had felt shims placed at friction points when I replaced the windshield, that worked well.
