I finally got some crappy shots with my blackberry. I got this lip as part of a GB with the John and Roy and they have still to install theirs...

The fitment of the Shine Replica lip was brutal (see my rant in the vendors forum) but after the body shop cut and pasted it all together to get it to fit right, the end result looks great!
I will also say that the part doesnt come with a cross beam to go in the big front opening and looks incomplete without it. I was able to remove the cross member from my Mode4 bumper and shave it down to make it fit. Ill probably install my OEM fogs as well as the brackets for them can be seen from certain angles and makes it look like somethings missing (im really particular with little things, it probably wouldnt bother anyone else)

The last shot is the "before" with the mode4 (02+ for pop ups) bumper. I wasnt satisfied with the fitment, and it seemed to get worse through the winter. A body shop could tinker with it and make it fit right Im sure. Id let it go for around $1000 if any local guys are interested in it (I paid $1750, plus the front OEM lip, plus shipping/customs when I ordered it from evof575gtc last year)

Looks good, too bad it didn't fit out of the box.
Interested it seeing what the rest of the boys say.
I was going to buy Oyagi's but no way now....lol.
Why didn't you know that you didn't get a cross piece?
The pictures on his thread don't show one.
Thanks for the photos.
Trev

THe middle pic shows the cross bar. (behind the plate)
I knew it didnt come with one but once it was installed it became more apparent that it "needed" one.
Im pretty sure Oyagi's lip he was going to sell you was the GT one he has on his car now, not his replica "kei Office" one....

Your pretty sure is pretty well off......lol

Looks good Marc, now I'm waiting to see how ROY's turned out since its going on this week.

Plans changed a bit for me. I'm getting into tracking and the thought of a one piece low slung lip worried me. Also, now I'm planning to go full '02 conversion so I decided to see if Trev was interested in buying my Shine lip as he was asking about it before our group buy. Luckily for Trev (and not so much for me I suppose) we both read about your bodyshop experience and he pulled out of buying mine and now I'm not sure what I'm going to do with it. If Roy's fit well, I might just keep it, hold off on the '02 conversion and get mine put on. If its poor fitting like yours, I'll prob eat the costs and liquidate it at some time.

BTW Marc, I'd skip the oem fogs/drls and go with a set of thin LED drls like mine. More visible and looks 100x better. I got mine in Japan but ebay has them these days.

Shine Auto parts are crappy replicas. Rarely do they fit out of the box. From what I understand several japanese body kit makers are not happy with them copying their stuff and I don't blame them.

Liek I said in the other thread, I'm looking to do the conversion over the winter so it will be a few months at least before you'll see the for sale threads. ;)

Here's a link to an ebay ad for the lights. Mine are PIAAs, and white, not the ricey Made in China's blue, but you get the idea. The coolest part is they just wire right up to your stock 12V oem drl wires and you can fasten them with supplied screws or even 3M tape. It took me 30 mins literally to put them on.

Sweet brother, have they test fitted the bumper (with lip) on the car yet?
if you dont have the fitment issues that i had, its really gonna be a head-scratcher... i HOPE u dont, but id be baffled if you didnt.

keep us posted, ur cars gonna look niiiiice!

yea they have already tested it on the car and when i got there they have already taken it off... so i don't have a pic of it on the car

 the bodyshop owner just sent me a picture he took with his phone yesterday.... that's test fitted before they even started prepping for paint

Looks good Roy.

BTW did yours have a shine logo sticker on the inside?

I remember 2 of the 3 had the sticker. Not sure if that made a difference in it being a version 1 or 2. I am not sure which one I grabbed as I did it qucikly once I realized I could deliver the 2 lips to TO.

Looks really good btw! Mine is still gathering dust in the basement.

What do you mean by a version 1 or 2.
Where did this come from?
Have you been talking to the Mfg?
I am really surprized by the lack of communication or wanting to sell
his product here.

Trev,

Remember the thread where this was originally posted for sale by Shine? He said that the original version (which I call version 1) had fitment issues which was corrected (hence called version 2). We ordered 3 of these things for our Cdn GB. Marc (sicksrv) said his fitment was crap, but Roy's said his was good. When I received all 3 of them I noticed one of the lips didn't have a Shine sticker on it, which at the tim I didn't think much of, now I'm starting to wonder if that was maybe a leftover of version 1 that was sent over and Marc (unfortunately) got a hold of.

Whenever the other guys see this I'd be curious to see which one got the no sticker lip and that might shed some light in all of this. I also assume Shine is keeping a low profile till all this blows over (?).

Why not post this stuff on his thread then.
Thanks for the update and info.
Once again.
I feel this guy was not a good communicator nor had product knowledge or cared, so that is why I dropped it fast.
Everything I have bought lately is junk........I've had enough.

Well, I'm sort of tolerant of this sort of thing. The way I see it, I chose to buy a limited production car. I could have bought a 350Z with tons of support, aftermarket choices and the benefit of high volume prices. Its all part of the game. I would imagine support for something even rarer would require more patience.

I do not recall my lip having any Shine logo/sticker anywhere on it

Who cares at this point I guess tho, its on my car, looks good, moneys spent... the pain in my ass is just starting to heal
