Crankshaft pulley/damper "seal"?

Am I missing it? I have not removed it but would like the part in hand before so.

On the side where the pulley is, the crankshaft sticks out of the cylinder block through the oil pump. I guess that was the reasoning for putting the crankshaft seal on that end on the oil pump page of the parts catalog instead of on the cylinder block or crankshaft pages.
