I am assuming there is a special tool for the removal of the crankshaft nut. How do you get this thing off!!! Also, my car has chip/I/H/E, can I advance the timing on the car and get a hp gain?

There is a tool to hold the pulley, its standard to all Honda products so you should be able to get one at any good parts store or major tool manufacturer. Then all you need is a socket to fit the bolt an extension and a breaker bar and a 4' pipe. I would say it takes about 400 ft LB to break it loose just don't turn the engine counterclockwise.

As for the timing there is an adjustment that you have to drill out some rivet so you can adjust it. I would say just check it and if it in spec. don't worry about it. I believe the engine has plenty of advance in the timing, if you turn it up the knock sensors and the ECU will just back off the timing sooner. Net gain zero.

Probably not factory recommended: You can also wedge a screwdriver in the teeth of the flywheel. See the DanO files for more.

I highly recommend a an impact wrench. I have a 600 ft/lb one and it took a lot of "knocking" to get the damper nut to spin...so don't give up, just let it hammer away for afew minutes.

as for cam timing there is no way to adjust it without adjustable cam gears. I was also thinking of this when I did my timing belt. As for spark timing I think there is a few HP to be gained, I advanced mine 2*. Stock is 15*BTDC at idle mine is set at 17*BTDC.

Had the impact wrench out and ready to go when it hit me that the engine might actually turn backwards if the impact wrench spun it. Could this cause damage because of a tensioner or some other item that was not meant to hold something tight in a backwards motion. Could it jump time?
