Cracked windshield

Mine broke a couple of years back

The dealership took care of it

They had a glass guy come on site to do the replacement

My insurance covered it

A few of us have had it done, crazy variation in total cost

My dealer replaced all of the trim, referred to as garnishes

My car was in the shop for 6 days

Total cost was in the $6K range, the replaced trim really goosed up the cost

Make sure they do a thorough leak test, mine leaked right above the rear view mirror

The dealer sealed it up and it has been fine since then

Yeah that’s what I’m worried about with this car. Sounds like a trip to the dealer is in order rather than one of those windshield replacement companies.

There are probably not many manufacturers who are going to make an aftermarket windshield for a car that has only sold around 2400 copies. Make sure your insurance covers.

My example was at the high end in terms of cost

For most folks, these are covered 100%, in the end no cost to me

I believe some folks had bills in the $2700 to $3000 range, where parts were re-used

For comparison, for the new Ford GT a windshield replacement is about $30,000
