Not so recently, I had the local dealership take a look at my OEM stereo for some minor issues that I had with it. After getting it back, it seemed okay and I left it at that. Since then, I haven't used my cassette deck in my NSX in almost a year, and after putting in a tape today, button functionality was different than what I remember.

1) Powering OFF causes the entire tape to eject. Is this normal? I thought the tape remained inside but the tape heads released.

2) In order to go back and forth between tapes and radio/CDs, I need to eject the cassette or push the tape back in. I thought I could cycle between AM/FM/CD/Tape with the AM/FM button. As it is, I can only cycle between AM/FM/CD. Was I mistaken?

Obviously, my main problem was that I don't remember having to eject the tape so much. Is this thing working right? Maybe I'm just getting old and losing my memory.

Yes, you were mistaken.

Maybe... but remember, I'm older than you are.

I sure wish the tape would stay in the deck. I use a cassette tape adapter for my iPod and its a pain to have to push the cassette in every time I get back into my car. It would be a lot less strenuous on the drive if it didn't eject it every time.

I feel your pain, Fury.

Come to think of it, I've owned my NSX for five years and have yet to install a cassette tape in the tape deck. And I don't plan to.
