I think I'm about to buy an NSX and would like to know if I could safely trailer an NSX back home, about 210 miles.
My traler is 16'x6 1/2 (192" x 80"). It also has side rails that are about 18".
I know the NSX is 172" long and 71" wide, whould there be enough room to safely trailer it? Getting the doors open and closed clould be a problem.
I use the trailer to hall commercial mowers, and even the ones that are 1200 lbs+ still jump around when I hit bumps or stop fast, But the NSX would be strapped down.

My other option would be to just drive it home. What to you guys think?

Yeah, just drive it. Probably has more chance of being damaged on that trailer. If you are worried about paint chips, just tape the front with painter's tape or a bra.

I drove 450+ miles, missed a night of sleep, and smiled ear to ear almost the whole way home!! :D

Most fun outside the track I have had was the 1,200 mile trip home when I bought it. Drive it home, you won't regret it. In fact, take the long way home. ;)

Yep, I felt the same way. Never will forget it either.

I'm going to Las Vegas in a couple of weeks and I'm taking my X. Could drive the wife's 2002 CL but I haven't driven the X in over 3 weeks and I'm really looking forward to it.

If you opt to drive the 210 miles, chances are when you get near home, you'll keep driving. :)

I trailered mine home 1300 miles on about the same trailer. The secret to getting the open when it is on the trailer is to drive up on a 2x4 on the drivers side and that was enough to get the door open. I the tied it down and drove from Oklahoma to Utah. I thought about driving it home but he had some 18" wheels along with the stock ones, and a few other little things that i was able to bring home without him shipping them to me. So i was happy trailering it home.

trailering

I agree with everyone, for 210 miles just drive it home. I have trailered my nsx to track events and it can be a pain in the a$$, the car sits very low and so you would need blocks or longer ramps to clear it.

A few months ago I bought an MDX from Miami. Myself and a friend drove it home 1900 miles straight(26 hours) to Minneapolis with no stops. It was great! I just bought an NSX from Coral Springs Fl, which is just north of Miami, and if the motor didn't have issues, I would have had even more fund driving it home. Drive it home, you'll have a blast. Mo - Elite.

what problems did you have with your motor coming home?

I trailered mine from Little Rock, AR to Michigan. A good 20 hours drive. I rented the trailer from uhaul for $220 (if I remember it right). I pulled it with my 4 runner - no problem at all.

The tricky part is getting out of the car after getting it up the trailer.

Good Luck!!:D

I drove mine from Austin, Tx to Baltimore. It was great. I didn't want the trip to be over when I got home.

When I bought my 94 NSX 3 years ago I trailered it home about 600 miles and I would have rather drove it. Was really hard to stop smiling and quit looking in the rear view mirror the whole time. I will say on the way there I stopped about 4 times to rest and what not but on the way home I drove straight home without any stops. Even though I didn't have plates I drove it around the block a couple times :D just couldn' resist it.

Either way look at it this way...when you get home you'llhave an NSX :D

The only reason you could possibly want to trailer it for would be...

1) You've just bought an original '91 NSX with 12miles on it. :D
That only happens when you live on Guam.

Speaking of which, where's Richard? He hasn't posted here in quite a while.

as I posted earlier, I'm going to drive it home.
I hope I don't get a ticket for speeding, though even going the limit looks like speeding in the X. I need a valentine 1 :)

How much does the bra for the front cost?, I don't want to chip up my new car:(
