Driving the car yesterday I noticed the car begining to run a bit hotter than normal. I pulled to the side and opend both the front hood and the engine hatch, no leaks visible there. After a few minutes I noticed the leak was under the car a bit forward and below the drivers cockpit. My question , Are there any hoses along that area or did I hit something on the road and damage the pipes that run under the car?. It was dark when I got back last night and couldnt check. Thanks in advance for the help

are you sure it was coolant that was leaking or was it water from the A/C system? There are a couple of drain bolts on the heater hoses under the car in that general location but I don't see those causing a problem. I'd start by bleeding the system (or having it bled by a good shop) according to the Service Manual.

Definatly coolant, unless my a/c is peeing green LOL

If you are leaking coolant from the front of the car, I think the car running hotter than normal may be a symptom and not a cause. Therefore I am not sure bleeding will be the cure.

If the coolant leak was a result of running hot, it would be blowing out the overflow tube on top of the bottle in the engine compartment. It should never leak from the front end of the system unless you are draining or bleeding it.

First I'd check all the bleed bolts. If you are lucky maybe one is just a tad loose. Failing that, look at all the hoses and pipes, and particularly the connections. Keep in mind the coolant may be leaking one place and spraying or following a hose or pipe to a lower point where it finally drops. You may need to heat the car up again to get it leaking (make sure your coolant level hasn't gotten too low first!)

This could be a leak from the coolant overflow bottle itself. If you've never replaced it on your 92 it may be time. And remember coolant is attractive to small animals but very toxic to them - don't let your pets near any coolant spills.

there's supposed to be a crush washter between the two heater drain bolts...you may want to check and/or replace these.

Good luck,

(EDIT: I just re-read and noticed that your leak is not near where mine is. Sorry for the confusion)

Funny, but I had a puddle of coolant under my car when I got home last night from work. I jacked the car up, and sure enough the plastic coolant bottle had cracked. I found my leak by jacking up the left side of the car and crawling up underneath in front of the left rear wheel. Shining a flashlight and tracing the trail of green fluid, there was a tiny crack near one of the coolant tank mounting bolts.

The SOS coolant tank appears to be the best long-term fix for this problem. It seems as if this happens to a lot of NSX's out there.

Here what it was the two alluminum pipes that go from the radiator to the engine bay are connected in the middle by 3 rubber hoses, I would think it would be for the car to be able to flex and not crack the pipes if they were one peice.

One of the hoses had sprung a leak and from the pressure was pushing the water along the cover to the front of the car.
