Converting 02+ fixed headlights to 01- popups

Does anyone have experience converting an 02+ with fixed headlights to 01- popups? Apart from adding the lift button to the lower left dash (which I think there is a knockout for already) & associated wiring, is it any more involved than going the other way?

There was a 02+ Red NSX a couple months ago that had pop up lights. It was a salvaged title NSX.

If someone did this you would be hard pressed to make them believe that it was in fact originally a 02+ MY.

While I do like the 02 up look, I still love the popup's.

There seem to be more 02+ for sale these days than 97-01.

there are features of the newer cars that i like.........not the headlights though......nothing intrinsically beautiful about headlights.....

I love the POP-UPS being bias opinion cuz mine is a 92 but the bubblelights I cant get over,,, but I love the lower part of the bumper,,I wonder if i could just switch that part and leave the pop-ups?
I also like if you keep hitting the button up-down up-down kinda fast to make the pop-ups go up without the lights on you can make it wink cuz they get outta sync and only one will be up at a time,,
kinda cool,, but when the button is released they sync back when they go down,, its funny to see it,, its like the car is wiggin out!!

There is a bumper sold by Eric (evo575gtc) by Mode4 that is basically the '02 style lower front bumper with the upper popups made of frp. Another member here modded an authentic urethane '02 front bumper to work with the popups as well.

Personally I like the popups one day and the fixed headlamps another. I like the lower "mouth" of the newer bumpers like you. However, a local owner here bought the Mode4 and after a year with it on the bumper warped badly (perhaps from the cold winters here, so that option is very limited to us up here in Canada.

You should have just bought a Pontiac Fiero. The headlights are always out of sync and one is usually stuck in the up position. I don't see the need to fvck with the electronics of the car like you are doing. One day one of the motors is going to freeze and we'll see you posting asking for help.

I love the popups. Main reason for my love affair of the car as well as the BMW 850. The 02+ is nice to look at but would never want to own. just my 2cents.

THIS reminds me of a thought I have often had about people commuting.
If the traffic is very heavy southbound and the same northbound why don't
we all switch jobs or homes with the people going in the opposite direction.

Some people want to switch to the 2002 headlights and others want to switch
back from 2002. Trade cars and save a bunch of money and aggravation etc.

hmmm some people want to switch back? This is the first time I have heard it on this forum. Usually people who want a NA2 but with pop ups usually just saves 10 grand and buy a 97-01. People who own 02's + really want to own an 02 +.

WOW that RED NSX is so freaking hot!! I not a fan or red NSX's but that one makes me smile,, and yes that F-car looks like a prototype from the 70's,, it Junk, and probably broke down and people thought they would park next to it to make the F-car owner better!! LOL
