Considering parting out a silver 98. Any interest?

Hello,

My friend just had an unfortunate accident with his '98. He ran the car over a median and over a curb. I haven't seen the car yet, but from what he told me, the suspension is pretty much gone and there is front damage and some damage to the rest of the body. The car has 30,000 on it. It is a 6-speed. He is considering buying the car from the insurance company if they decide to total the car out. I told him that I think parting it out would be a good idea. It would put parts into the hands of NSX owners who need them.

If he decides to do this, is there interest in parts?

There are a couple aftermarket things on this car that might be of interest.

1: Comptech clutch (1000 miles on it)
2: Comptech ring and pinion (1000 miles)
3: RM intake
4: Un-installed Comptech widebody kit

If there is enough interest, I think he will part it out.

Thanks in advance
Cory Patterson

I think there will be some intrest in the car.

Do you know the buy out price ?
How much do you want for the wide body kit ?

I may be interested in the Comptech clutch.
How much would you want for it? Please email me at [email protected], thanks.

I would think that the type of accident you are talking about may have damaged many of the parts you can salvage.

My guess is the remaining panels, interior, seats, stereo, tools, ecu, engine = $8,000 - $11,000 depending on what's left.

The exhaust system & drivetrain may be toast but you have the clutch & 6 speed tranny = $2,000 - $3,000.

So I guess it depends on what the insurance company offers you and what is still in good condition.

Alternately - you may be able to find enough parts to fix it back with the money you get from insurance - but you will probably need to do your own sweat equity to make it worth your while.

Good luck / sorry about your friends car.

I agree about the worth. This will all depend on the buy-out value.

Once the car is available to be parted out, I would like to purchase the 2-Piece Center Console Armrest in it's entirety. I will be abl eto pay for it via PayPal. Please email me at [email protected] when the part is available for sale.

I would also like to purchase the passenger-side black leather entry way piece, the foot long piece that covers where the interior carpet meets the door jamb.
