What do you guys think of a two tone interior? Thinking of changing the carpet to black and also ordering Black leather Recaro Sportster's with custom orange stitching. Thoughts?

These are the Sportster CS seats I am considering. I would get the Recaro logo in orange and also get custom orange stitching:

Thats a good looking seat but imo i would leave the logos off. I'm not one for advertising brands unless they are sponsoring me and splitting costs. Black carpet would also look allot better imo. Any other carpet color in an NSX just doesn't look right to me.

I have the black/ivory combo and did'nt like the ivory carpet so I installed fact. black I bought from Ravi and it really looks great. It will definately go with the rest of the black in your car without going overboard.

nice seat, no doubt!

Nice lookin' seat... I, too, might look into that as it has reclining-adjustability [sic] which is somewhat of a must for me. I wonder how much 'customization' is available w/ these seats (ie. perforated center seat-inserts made of ultra-suede/Alcantara w/ regular leather on the bolsters/edges & contrast double-stitching)?

Instead of spending more than a grand just to get my OEM/stock seats recovered, I thought that I might as well see what other seats are out there. Also, just waiting to see how the OEM/stock NSX Type-S or NSX-R replicas turn out (though, I can't recall at the mo' which ones are being fabricated as we speak by someone here on the forum). . .

What black-carpets are you going w/: OEM/stock black, MovIT black, MovIT NSX-R'style black...?
imo i would leave the logos off...
2x

The contrast double-stitching will look sporty/modern as-is.

Kinda/sorta off-topic... synth19, what color is the trim-surface of your JDM Nav' pod (OEM-like dark-metallic or matte-black)? They come in (2) colors. . .

Or why dodnt you put nsx or nsxr in place of recaro

nice reclining seats, if i was to buy a set i would seriously consider those. i think they do sell for $1400 in leather.

Is it going to fit?

Re: nice seat, no doubt!

Not sure yet, haven't researched too much, but the quality of the recent group buy looked pretty good. Again, just considering this new look.. going back and forth with what I want to do. Also, I like the idea of preserving the OEM seats (who am I kidding, another justification). heh

kuhl...

Here is a closer look. I bought the nav pod from another primer used...
Thanks, my friend

It looks identical to mine, and I'm somehow/someway tryin' to figure out how to make it better match my OEM/stock center-console. I guess I'll see if I can find someone/somwhere to trade w/ their metallic-tone JDM Nav' pod (if they were considering refinishing theirs). . .

On-topic... I just found some 'sport' seats offered by Recaro that have electric sliding/tilt/reclining! They'd go nicely w/ my center storage-bin beverage-cooler... :D

I don't think it's too terrible of a mismatch to be honest. I didn't ever really notice the difference since the original vents are the same color. :)

Just bought these, great seats, expensive but great. I doubt you will get them in that color combo.

P.S. Retail on seats are 1895.00 each!!:frown:

get the black carpet and either replace the tan platic pieces or get them repainted (if done professionally they last forever but even rattle-can vinyl paint is decent).

After going back and forth about this, I think I'm going to keep everything AS IS for now. I did a quickk chop and wasn't too happy with the two-tone results. Thanks all for the input. I was however able to locate a set of used Sportster CS seats for 2k (seats plus sliders). You will need to get a set of rails. If you are interested in this set, PM me. I will fwd. you the info. The seats I found are synthetic leather and look practically brand new (only 4 months old).

Texas91Brent, how was the fitment of the Sportster CS in the NSX. Any pics? Thanks!

Hi, Seats look and feel great. The company I bought from has post in vendor section. They were great to work with and discounted the purchase. My car is with my bodyshop guy getting widebody work. I have only unboxed them. I would change carpet to black or maybe just get black carpet mats, thats what gets dirty anyway. I will post when installed. I had Recaro leather pole positions prior, As much as I liked them, I like the Sportsters even more.....

Oops, I see you already have black mats....my bad:redface:

I have been battling with this same decision for awhile now myself (only with ivory interior on a black NSX). The problem with changing the carpet color is that then where do you stop with the black? It's easy to work black into the seats but what about all of the plastic (like someone else mentioned)? Going to black speaker grills is also easy enough but a couple splashes of black just doesn't look right imo. You pretty much have to start changing allot of interior things then and that can get very expensive (ask me how i know?).

My ivory seats are destroyed and the carpet is even worse so i really had little choice but to bite the bullet and make the switch but since your interior is in good shape and the color matches your car. I would just leave it until you have to do something about it do to age and wear issues that will surely arrive eventually.

Downforce is replicating my Type R seats. If done right, I think it will be a hit.

It will probably be little pricier but worth the money for what they are. Why don't you wait and see the result.
