First off, I want to thank the quick responses from members of this board for your input on my first post..you were dead on!you guys rock.so my clutch is gone and I am on a very important project at work so I have my wife -mechanic yes I am a lucky guy, visit the local acura dealer for an estimite. they say 2500 hundred +tax and another 2000!if they need to replace the fly wheel.all the after market clutches I have looked at include the fly wheel and most estimate labor flywheel included at 7 hrs.that sounds like 2500 total parts and labor including the flywheel and my nsx of america discount.I see posts from nsx people that have posted thier repair costs and they indicate the fly wheel was part of the deal.whats wrong with this picture and for reasons of my own I am open to all input on what clutch to go with except rm.I want rm I just cant do it.with that said I would like opinions on what clutch to go with, replace flywheel or not.and am I getting bent over by the dealer.please dont ask me whom the dealer is as this is not about flaming anyone.I am a new owner.paranoid to have anyone other then a acura dealer do the work so your input is needed for me the newbie
thank you
best regards David in clearwater fl
p.s I really need to get this fixed..she keeps calling my name saying fix me drive me but dont hurt me again

If you can get the dealer to install it, or have another shop experienced with NSX clutches (including the early dual-disk), the Dali package is a good bet. I have yet to hear anyone complain about problems with it, which is why I recently bought one.

IF you decide to go that way and IF Mark can't guarantee quick delivery, I have a complete new set not yet installed. I would sell them for what I have in them including my shipping, plus actual shipping to you. I'll buy another one from him, but I just haven't gotten around to doing mine this winter.

I replaced my stock clutch (which gave off a horrible odor) as well as slipped and made a weird sound defininatly robbing me of performance and installed a centerforce clutch.I am very happy w/ the results ,no smell, crabs like hell,no chatter, etc (the price was reasonable too).I've used centerforce clutches on my drag car as well as other daily drivers and "never" been disapointed...
Good Luck.

BadCarma,
Let me know what you decide/think about the Dali clutch. If you talk to Mark, how soon can they be delivered? I too am in the Tampa area and am in need of a new clutch as well (not quite as bad as you do from reading earlier posts). The Dali clutch looks to be about the best deal with the best results so far IMHO. Also, if you ever want to meet up in the area, private mail me. Good luck with the clutch...

The Dali site has a link to "Dumpster Diving..." for clutch cores. Dali sends them off to Centerforce to be "remanufactured." Sounds like the Dali clutch kit is an OEM clutch with centerforce fiber discs. Suspect to me.

If you have no problems using the OEM clutch, get another one. If you plan on pushing 600bhp, then you might consider something else! The stock clutch does just fine. I have used a Centerforce in another Honda before and it worked just like the OEM. Waste of a few hundred bucks. Oh well, we learn. A clutch is not going to make you say, "Wow, NOW this is a fun car."

Why? Nothing wrong with a remanufactured unit if done well. Even better than stock if you need the extra grip, and you will with any forced induction well before 600 HP.

The stock one is a waste of a few hundred bucks IMNSHO. I'd rather get the super-light Tilton flywheel and CF clutch from Dali for about the same money as just the clutch from Acura.

Comptech Powergrip 2 sure made my car fun to drive! I now get to pound the clutch with out feeling like the OEM units is going to explode on me. When you consider the clutch kit includes the flywheel, it is an attractive combo, IMO.
