Comptech Raspy noise....normal?

Hello,
I have a 94 with a Comptech Exhaust, it was on the car when I bought it so I am not sure how old it is, but the car only has 50k. My question is that there is a really annoying “raspy” noise about 3000rpm. It kind of sounds like what I’ve heard described as a buzzing noise. Is this normal for a Comptech setup? Could it be something else like a cat? The exhaust sounds great up to that point and great after it.

Look for a crack in the case. it is probably split. Could also be internally came loose

Don't have any raspy sound with the new CT design. But I've read about some issues of the older CT series.

We've replaced these when they start to make the buzzing noise which seems to be the coils they use to hold the packing material to the resonator tubes.
