Does anyone know if the instructions are posted online or does anyone have a set of instructions they could send/fax me for installation in a '91? I checked FAQ but no luck. Comptech's site has instructions for many other items, but not the harness bar. I received the bar/belts on Friday evening....and NO INSTRUCTIONS :-)

Many TIA,

Bump from the dead!

Unlike OP I don't have a fax machine... but I do have a Comptech harness bar that I'd love detailed instructions for how to install. Anyone got anything?

Is it pretty similar to Cedar Ridge bar? I think u can email Dave from cedar ridge fab and he can email u a copy.

I have the instructions if anyone would like them, with templates for the B-pillars.

Yinzer - yes please do. I'm about to do this install too. Share with the world.

Here you go. I'll add a link to the templates separately, I realized that I uploaded templates earlier to a different thread:

But the photos of the instructions there aren't very good, so here are better copies.

They're in that thread link I posted above. However, I'm reminded that size matters after all and one would need a true 8.5x11 copy of the sheets they came from. I should load up a scanned PDF-does anyone know A good place to permanently park it? I use dropbox, but I couldn't guarantee that a link I would give to the PDF would be permanent.

Or you could just send it to me! See if we can tack this to the WiKi sections. Much appreciated.

The simplest solutions are usually the best solutions! I'll email it tomorrow, and anybody reading this can private message me for the PDF. :)

PS, if I were installing a harness bar, I would not cut any original B pillar covers. I would either leave them off, find a way to mask the area or live with it as-is, or try to find ones off a salvaged coupe even if a different color and cut those. They look completely awful cut out at the seat belt loop and new half black B pillars are impossible to find. It took me a lot of searching to find a beautifully clean new half black driver's side cover.

Good advise on the cutting of that trim piece. Maybe one of our carbon fiber producing folks out there might produce a small run of these? Beuhler? Beuhler? Ferris Beuhler?

I'll PM you. Thanks.

Great suggestion.

Also while we're at it I suggest really watching when hand turning the bolts and torquing into any threads. I forget if any threads were in aluminum - I know there's a captured threaded puck at the seat rails and those are probably steel, but it's possible the B-pillar threaded points may be aluminum. Aluminium if Jeremy Clarkson is reading this.

At any rate - go carefully and consider using a torque wrench.
