Comptech DC Sports headers with the steel bellows. If you are familiar with these, you know all you have to do is drive them and they will fail, the bellows crack and there is no repairing them. Well, I have a pair of these and they did crack and I decided they were to good to throw out. So I cut the bellows out and replaced the bellow with a spring loaded/ball flange set up and stainless tubing. I built a set of jigs off a pair of Comptech Stainless headers to make sure the alignment is correct and I just mounted them yesterday as I dropped the car on my new motor. They bolt up great to my Comptech exhaust.

So, if anyone has a set of these and they want them reserected feel free to contact me and I would be happy to fix yours or help you source parts to put them back together.

Here is the before.

Fixed header

Here is the welded headers ready for coating and putting back on the car. I also installed a new bung to move the O2 sensor into the part of the header after the three into one collector.

Hats off to you. Nice to see someone take the initiative and create the proverbial silk purse out of a sow's ear:D:D:D

Thanks Gary,
I hate to see things go to waste, especially things that can be fixed and made better!:)

I agree looks great...so far my DCs are hanging in there after three years of hard use.

awesome work! quite insightful

hmmm, some real good stuff here! A few NSX'ers and myself are considering a project w/ aftermarket headers... We need a donor set, just for analysis and measurements. If anyone has a set they can do w/o for a short-bit, break on through w/ me (PM/email)... also if anyone has a set that needs some work on them to make them fit & ready again, we'd be keen to use them for our purposes and fix them up in return.

There is more info' on this thread...

Again, kudos on the good work/technical prowess...!

When my DC Sports were purchased (used) they had cracked at the collector. DC Sports welded on new flanges/bellows at no charge and paid 1/2 the shipping. That was 6 years and many track miles ago. I wonder if they changed anything or if I have been luckier this time?

When they go again I will see if they are still as generous and if not will be looking for this post!
