CompTech 4.55 R&P

Hi guys -

Could use some input on this one. I just recently (today) rx'd my new 4.55 CompTech R&P for my '95.. Ive been reading some of the posts on this unit and it seems there are two different versions.. an old design which made gear noise, and a new design which is supposed to alleviate this.

My question is -> how can i tell which one i got? I am assuming that since i just ordered it direct from Comptech that i would have gotten the new model.. I understand that it is supposed to have some 'oil grooves' in it somewhere.. but where do i look to tell if i have these? i'd hate to get it in the car and have it be the wrong one.. that'd be a big ooops...

wouldnt that be easier to pick up the phone & call comptech to find out?
