Attention K.C. and St. Louis! Combined group meet?

What do you St Louis\ K.C. guys think of having a combined drive/meet somewhere in the middle, like Columbia. Sounds like a good idea if we have someone knowledgeable of the roads in that area (I'm not). Any X'ers in Columbia willing to help put this together? Gary :D

After August 1st I would be interested.
Ditto! (save the anniversary weekend of 8/17-18).

That'd be great! I've just moved to Columbia and would be willing to host this get together.
I've got a place on 60 acres, on top of a mountain, that overlooks the Missouri River... Perfect for entertaining.
I have met Ben, but unfortunately, he's moving to Texas sometime this month.

Sounds cool.... could always run down to Lake of the Ozarks as well. I lived there like 10 years, good twisty roads.

but columbia or jeff city area is fun too.

Ok, so is anyone in or close to the Columbia area that knows the roads and would be willing to help organize a drive/meet? Sounds like Ben is out. KGP, did you mean you want to do it on the weekend of 8/17-18 or just another date? Gary.

That would have been great. Columbia and the surrounding area through the Ozarks have some GREAT driving roads with many being poorly patrolled. I had many private "test tracks" that have been missed this past week since my move to TX. I have many, many friends in Columbia that would be willing to take you on some routes, though they would be on 2 wheels.

Happy motoring,

Ben

Would someone from Tulsa be invited? I'd enjoy meeting some of you guys provided I have my car up and running.

Hey Ben, can you recommend someone in the Columbia area that could help us put this together? No one has stepped up to volunteer their services yet. I just chose Columbia because its pretty much halfway between KC and ST. Louis. I have no knowledge of the roads in that area myself. Gary

I'd be interested in doing this also. I don't have an NSX but I've got an S2000, hope thats good enough.

Whatever we do, we really need to make a run down to Lake of the Ozarks and hit the bagnell damn strip... I was down there a few weekends ago and 99% of the people were going nuts over the NSX. I think it'd be great to show up with like 10 of us going down the strip

There's also some great twisty roads around there and plenty of places to park and hang out.

Zipy,

I can inquire with a few individuals in Columbia that know the roads well, but again, these will be motorcycle guys. I know only of only 2 other NSX owners in Columbia, with 2Dobes just having moved there. At very least, I can get together a great road route to get you from Columbia to the lake.

Best regards,

Ben

Ben, as long as you can recommend a proven route (i.e. not much traffic and some nice twisties) the only other need would be a good place to meet. This may come together after all. I (we) really appreciate your help. Thanks, Gary.:D

An Okie? No way! ;)

If they really pull this off it would be great to see you there. Count me in if the dates work out.

I am in, IF I have a car to drive.
I'm sure you can come up with something!

Brad, if you're willing to host, that would really help. With Ben setting up the route for us, all we need then is a date. I would recommend doing this on a Sunday morning, traffic is always lighter then, and probably not a route to the lake as the traffic would defeat the purpose of a "spirited" drive. All input and other ideas would be greatly appreciated. Gary.

That is true. What was I thinking? You have a spare one, I could borrow it. I am pretty sure mine will not be ready.:(
I promise to drive it like I stole it.

Here's what I have so far. 2Dobes offered to host the gathering, and we discussed the date, being Labor day weekend. However, this is now not going to work for me and others have expressed that they have also already made plans for this weekend. I have not heard from 2Dobes(Brad) for some time now and do not have his phone number. Brad if you see this post please respond as to whether or not you are still willing to host this event. Gary.

Sorry for not getting back to you, Gary. I've been moving, unpacking, and all that goes with that.
I am very willing to host this event and now have the most awsome home for entertaining... 60 acres on the MO river w/ jacuzzi, soccer field, and a huge deck w/ an incredible view. We just need to pin down a date and wether or not others would be interested in a possible all nighter. Would others be willing to pack camping equipment in their X and pitch a tent in the soccer field? For the light hearted ones... I can accomodate about 12 people without someone sleeping on the floor. C'mon everyone and sound off on what dates would work best and if you would be interested in an extended stay.
Gary, my cell # is (573) 999-9079

Being somewhat familar with Mizzou and more familar with the Ozarks and some of the roads you do have some options here. If you want to hang around the Columbia area the roads can be found.

Perhaps a Sat. morning depart from St.Louis & KC for a game in Columbia w/overnight and Sunday drive before heading home. Plenty of rooms available in Columbia as long as no Big 12 opponent is in town, if you don't want to pack a tent.

If you head southeast of Columbia the Mark Twain Natl Forest appears to be reasonable as are some roads out east along the Mo. River.

Lake of the Ozarks would have some reduced rates (off-season) for overnights if you consider that option, along with golfing, or if you just wanted to relax and hang out there are several spots on the water where you can watch some of the lake madnest boats.

I would be happy to offer some suggestions and I may be able to attend, depending on the dates.

But you say, "Tom you sold your NSX" Ahhh, its been replaced my fellow vehicular degenerates......A 993 Twin Turbo is forthcoming from Denver after August 9th. The hunt is over and deposit has been sent.

If you guys don't mind the German auto hanging w/the makes from Japan.
